If you are having problems resolving an issue with the Internal Revenue Service,
there is a free service called "Taxpayer Advocate Service" that may help. They
have proven helpful to my clients in the past.

Be cautious of tax preparers who claim they can obtain larger refunds than other
preparers. 2) Avoid preparers who base their fee on a percentage of the refund.
3) Use a reputable tax professional who signs the tax return and provides a

The best defense against an IRS audit is to keep very good records. Start now
collecting and organizing your receipts instead of waiting until the last minute
and guessing. Guessing may result in hurt feelings and a tax bill if ever
audited.

There is a new education credit for tax year 2009 & 2010 called the "American
Opportunity Tax Credit". It modifies the old Hope credit. Don't miss out on the
changes.

To claim a deduction for contributions made in cash or property equaling $250 or
more, you must obtain a written statement from the Church or qualified
organization. I guess our word isn't good enough anymore. lol

The American Recovery & Reinvestment Act reinstates some of the great tax
credits for taxpayers who are thinking about making energy efficient
improvements to their homes. Now would be a great time to get some things done
before winter gets here.

The amount of of the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) for 2009 and 2010 is
increased for those taxpayers with a third qualifying child. The rules also
